Inspiring Women Series
We are surrounded by inspiring women who are mentoring, leading, and giving back to their communities, often without recognition. In this series, we highlight the awesome women who are making an impact, but are never in the spotlight. Let’s appreciate them together.
Inspiring Women for 2023
Denée Crumrine is devoted to her community and has a passion for giving back. Not only does she serve on numerous boards and committees, but she also volunteers with organizations such as Exceptional Care for Children and Junior Achievement of Delaware. When she’s not lending a hand to these incredible causes, she’s sharing her immense expertise at Highmark Health where she specializes in Corporate Communications, Community Affairs, and Giving.
Chelsea Clark is the Organizational Culture and communications Director at L&W Insurance. She’s the driving force behind the agency’s internal culture, employee relations, and external communications. L&W Insurance loves giving back to the Delaware community and Chelsea helps make that happen through hosting events that provide support for various Delaware Nonprofit organizations. In her free time, Chelsea is a Charity Liaison for Gals That Give, a nonprofit organization on a mission to cultivate local community nonprofits. Chelsea is also the Chair of the Marketing & Communications Committee at the WRK Group and has worked with other organizations/initiatives like the Delaware Community Foundation, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Greater Kent Committee, and Spur Impact. Chelsea truly embodies the spirit of community service and making a difference.
Antonia is dedicated to creating opportunities for women to thrive in the workplace and beyond. She serves on several nonprofit boards including Hot Bread Kitchen, which helps low-income women secure living wage jobs in the food sector, and COHME, which pays home health workers a living wage while providing vital support to families in need. Antonia is also involved with the International Rescue Committee where she provides executive coaching to leaders working to make a difference in the lives of refugees worldwide.

Inspiring Women from 2018
I had the pleasure to brand Traci’s company, Madison Real Estate. What’s really impressed me about her is that in 2 years she’s tripled the number of agents. Every day it seems she’s having an open house or congratulating a client on the selling or purchasing of their home. She’s always posting amazing photos to inspire those searching for their dream home. AND, she still has time to go out and network. She knows how to work it — she knows how to work her brand, work the room, build truly meaningful relationships, and she can throw one hell of a party. Everyone who knows her, loves her… myself included.
Every woman-centric event I’ve attended, Antoinette’s name was mentioned as a woman of influence. She is most known as an award-winning blogger (@DelawareBlogger to be precise) and social media guru. She has a weekly podcast and also teaches as an adjunct professor. Other accomplishments include Entrepreneur of the Year Award, featured in several publications like Delaware Today, Woman’s Day, Parade, The Delaware Business Times, and Technical.ly. The most impressive… she’s even on radio! Is there anything this gal can’t do?
Recognized as a DBT40 Honoree from the Delaware Business Times and a Leadership Delaware Scholar is just the tip of the iceberg that is Sarah’s accomplishments. President of the board of Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation (who I have the pleasure of working with on the event committee) and Marketing & Communications Coordinator for Nemours are just a couple more things that this girl juggles. Yet, the thing that impresses me the most is that she rocked the business world and bought a house before even getting married. She stands on her own two feet. This is an amazing individual that is fiercely independent, intelligent, and spends every day connecting people. I am so thrilled that she is receiving recognition so well deserved and I’m proud to call her a friend as she brings positivity wherever she goes.
Inspiring Women from 2016
[Jennifer] has made enormous leaps and bounds as a woman business owner. Just last month she was invited to Amazon headquarters in Seattle, WA by senior management. They chose several women-owned companies who have been successful on their site — and Jennifer was one of them. They also wanted to know more about the launch of her new brand, JennyGems. Wow! This girl knows how to market her products and I’m so thrilled and honored to be apart of the journey.
From her animal fostering, amazing new office design to the rockin’ women’s organization she co-founded along with Amber Shader, she motivates me to grow on both a personal and professional level. She has a killer team of fellow #ladybosses for her company Social Butterfly. On top of all of this, she’s amazing at what she does. I had the opportunity to sit with her on a social media panel… this girl knows her stuff! I love love love how she supports other local businesses — even competitors. Her collaborative and embracing real life and online persona makes her a joy to interact with.
Angela is a ray of sunshine. Always beaming, she makes it her mission to know and help the people she meets along the way. (Apparently we went to the same high school!) She is is the inspiration for changing how I approach marketing — think not what people can do for you but how you can people. She is an excellent teacher on spreading feelings of goodwill and increasing others self-esteem. Angela genuinely wants to see people succeed and I find that energy to be absolutely contagious. She is wonderful to have in your corner. I can’t say enough positive things about her. Simply, she makes you feel good.
